However, Cologne 1888 is being launched throughout 2008 in honor of a founding Fairmont hotel, The Fairmont Banff Springs, which opened more than a century ago in 1888. The bespoke line is the brainchild (or should we say nose-child) of Lyn Harris, the renowned young perfumer recognized as a leading expert in her field. 

What makes this custom fragrance so exceptional is the use of precious ingredients.  Cologne 1888 blends a divine note of bitter orange, bergamot, Sicilian lemon, marjoram, thyme, basil and rosemary with a base of musk and amber and the velvetiness of petit grain.  All essential oils are the highest quality natural ingredients and form the soul of the scent. The delicacy of each ingredient is preserved so all harmonize together to become a work of art.
