Club Med has inaugurated its first Village in China, in the Yabuli ski resort, in northeast China in the Heilongjiang province.

The inauguration took place in the presence of Henri Giscard d'Estaing, CEO of Club Med, Zhenghua Mao, CEO of Melco China Resorts (MCR), owner of the Yabuli Village, and Guang Chang Guo, CEO of Fosun, a Club Med shareholder since June 2010.

The Club Med Village, which is located in a luxury hotel complex that was fully renovated in 2008 and reopened in 2009, welcomed its first Club Med clients on 27 November 2010. Club Med manages and markets the Village via a management contract signed for a renewable 10-year period.

A "Charming and prestigious" 4 Trident Village Located in an internationally renowned ski resort where the Chinese Olympics team trains, this Village enjoys an ideal location since it is in the middle of a luxury hotel complex in China's best equipped ski resort. An ideal destination for all levels of skiers, Yabuli has a learning area for beginners, 18 slopes and a ski school with certified instructors who give group and individual classes.

Offering upscale comfort, the Club Med Village welcomes families, couples and business seminars.

It is made of 2 hotels that are connected to one another, for a total of 284 rooms including 27 120 m˛ suites, 22 52 m˛ Deluxe rooms and 235 36 m˛ rooms. The Village is equipped with a Club Med Spa by L'Occitane, a swimming pool and a fitness room. It also has 6 conference rooms and a large reception room that can hold 600 people.

Families can enjoy complete childcare, since the Village welcomes children between the ages of 2 and 17 years, with a Petit Club Med, a Mini Club Med and a Junior's Club Med.

China: a major growth vector

For Club Med, the Yabuli Village is the first step of a growth project in China that plans to create four other villages and attract 200,000 clients by the year 2015, with the support of its Chinese partner Fosun, which holds nearly 10% of its capital. Club Med's goal is therefore to become the leader of upscale all-inclusive holidays for Chinese clients.

Today, Club Med is looking to position itself on this highly promising market, and to make China one of its top markets within the next 5 years.
